The initiative came from the network of organizations, movements, campaigns and affected communities
that built the campaign process on European TNCs in Latin America together with the
- Permanent People's Tribunal (PPT),
- Bi-regional Europe-Latin America and
- Caribbean Enlazando Alternativas Network.
Since late 2011, organisations from the network together with campaign organisations from different global regions have been promoting the campaign-building process. As of June 2012, over 100 organisations and movements from around the world have signed on to the campaign.

TKCSA - sem licença para operar, com permissão para poluir
(Portuguese with english subtitles) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcZVaB_5MmsAjoutée le 4 avr. 2013How come that a firm which now is being prosecuted in a criminal case, accused of severely damaging people's health and well-being, as well as the biodiversity around the Sepetiba Bay, Rio de Janeiro, be at sale? Financed with public money, ThyssenKrupp's Atlantic Steel Company (CSA, in portuguese) has been operating since 2010. Although it's still far from complying with Brazilian laws, now the company will have a new owner. And we ask ourselves: which kind of benefits can local residents and fishermen communities expect from this sale? What is the guarantee that CSA's new owners will abide by, and finally accept, the rule of Brazilian law?
